Stephen Penstone recognized by the GLOBE ROB as a changemaker

Supporting the Canadian commercial real estate decarbonize

Stephen’s ambition is to help the Canadian commercial real estate sector become a driving force behind Canada meeting its Paris Agreement commitments and becoming a net-zero economy by 2050.

Commercial real estate in Canada currently comprises 16% of national greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Stephen is working to transform how buildings are designed, constructed and operated by creating decarbonization pathways and models for the country’s leading real estate companies.  

Since joining Quinn+Partners in 2015, Stephen has supported some of the largest REITs, asset managers and pension plans who invest in real estate on their decarbonization and sustainability ambitions. He has contributed to two Canadian REITs setting targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and international research about real estate funds pathways to net-zero.

Changemakers celebrates emerging leaders transforming business today

Changemakers is an annual ranking program organized by Report on Business magazine. From both public and Report on Business newsroom nominations, 50 emerging and innovative business minds are selected. Winners receive high-profile exposure in a special segment of Report on Business magazine as well as an invitation to the Changemakers Summit, an event at which Canada’s freshest business thinkers can congregate to share, learn and network. Stephen’s background 

Stephen has a bachelor’s degree in engineering chemistry from Queen’s University. He joined Q+P in 2015 as an analyst. Over the years, he has advanced to becoming a senior consultant, where he leads client teams. Stephen also actively contributes to coaching and mentoring the next generation of emerging advisors and industry professionals through associations and committees.
